WHO WE ARE

The Tamil Advent Fellowship Ministries has a special mission towards the women of our church and community. The Women’s Ministry at TAFM aims to connect, encourage, empower, and serve Adventist women as they journey towards sharing the good news to their family, other church members and the people in the community, leading to eternal life. We conduct monthly gatherings, mentoring, Bible studies, retreats, and pastoral care. We support the mission of the General Conference Women’s Ministry.

Our mission is be an exemplary to the church and to the world. More specifically,

We are called to:

  • elevate women as persons of inestimable worth because they have been created and redeemed
  • enable women to deepen their faith and experience spiritual growth and renewal
  • build networks among women in the world church to encourage bonds of friendship and mutual support and the creative exchange of ideas and information
  • mentor young Adventist women, encouraging their involvement, and creating paths for them as they reach for their potential in Christ
  • address the concerns of women in a global context
  • bring women’s unique perspectives to the issues facing the world church
  • seek expanding avenues of dynamic Christian service for women challenge each Adventist woman with her potential to complement the gifts given to other women and men as they work side by side to further the global mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

Monthly Gathering


Women’s Ministry members gather each month on a sabbath from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Maryland Tamil Adventist Church, 2100 Spencerville Road. Details for each month’s gatherings are posted in the Tamil Adventist Church bulletin and WhatsApp group. Our main goal in conducting the monthly gathering is to facilitate oneness among the women of our church and to inspire each other to walk in the light

Mother’s Ministry

The TAFM Mother’s Ministry recognizes the importance of a mother and her selfless dedication towards the spiritual upliftment of her family. During this journey mothers tend to be exhausted with responsibilities at home, at work and at church. Hence women’s ministry serves as a platform to strengthen and nourish women in need.  We hope that you will be blessed by joining our group.  Visit our Facebook page for announcements and updates and connect with other mothers on our Facebook connection group.

Small Group Bible Study Ministry

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. I Timothy 3:16

Bible provides guidance and peace to the women who are always on the run trying to complete all their responsibilities. Allocating time with God and learning his teachings is very important in these last days. The TAFM Women’s Bible study group will meet every alternative sabbaths at the house of a church member. Announcement on the location will be informed to you.

Counselling Ministry

Counselling Ministry facilitates mentors’ pair up with women and has the freedom to customize their journey based on their need. Mentors are pre-approved based on their interest to share their time, experience, and provide one-on-one counselling ministry to women. Older women also form groups to mentor younger women.

Prayer Band

Prayer is an immensely powerful means tackle the busy life and it is a key to be in commune with God, helping us to get ready for the kingdom of heaven. TAFM Women’s’ Prayer Band will help women to uplift their souls and be in oneness with God. This Prayer Band would motivate all the members to spend time with God. It also brings closeness among the women who lifts their prayers in oneness of their spirit.

Leadership Training

There is an extreme need for women in the church to build and cultivate their leadership skills in order serve in various church ministries. We have distinguished guest speakers who provides lectures on developing leadership skills.  They share their time and experience towards the success of this program and we are very thankful to them.
